TPMS.

In an emerging market there is always market and price operation. This is also the case with universal TPMS sensors.

In addition to the above reason for a possible price difference, a price difference of a universal TPMS senor also arises from:

  • Quality
  • Country of origin
  • To what extent the company wants to penetrate the market quickly
  • Type (version and thus market coverage) *

The following brands are not an OE supplier, but do offer a universal TPMS sensor. These brands are often priced lower, but do not have the patents, and all signals available:

  • Orange
  • Autel
  • Cub

These companies legally use "reverse engineering", an OE sensor is copied and a protocol is written that ensures that the TPMS light goes out.

The following brands are OE manufacturers and have the correct patents and techniques. This makes these sensors slightly more expensive than the above:

  • Huf
  • Schrader
  • TRW
  • Continental.
  • VDO

*Important:

Some universal TPMS sensors are based on the "library" method. Take the HUF UVS sensors, for example. The type number on the orange housing shows which type it concerns. For example, the UVS4040 is newer than the UVS4030, because it contains more protocols and therefore covers a larger fleet.

When there are many old models of universal sensors in the market, these are sometimes "dumped". This is because there is simply a newer model out.
